China Open Chen Long vs. Viktor Axelsen 2-1, Women’s Singles Players lost, Chinese National Badminton Players Claimed Three Titles

In mixed doubles final, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong overtook Petersen combination’s with 2-0 (21-15, 21-11). In women’s doubles final, Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan beat narrowly Kim Hye Rin’s combination. In women’s singles final, 19-year-old Gao Fangjie failed to defeat Yamaguchi Akane.
Although Chen Long had rivaled against Viktor Axelsen eleven times before and gained the upper hand with only two slips, he was easily beaten by Viktor Axelsen at this World Championship with 0-2.
Chen Long in the first set took the lead by overwhelming the opponent with 7-1. The competition fell into a standstill after Chen Long kept his advantage in the technical timeout (11-6). Viktor Axelsen refreshed himself again, catching straight up with 15-18, and Chen Long sustained his position with 20-15 gaining the game point. Viktor Axelsen gained a point afterwards and still Chen Long won with 21-16 by smashing a diagonal shot.
The second set was stalemated, Viktor Axelsen gained his advantage with 11-7. After a brief interval, Viktor Axelsen bolstered himself up and changed the situation with 21-14.
At the decisive set, Chen Long took the initiative and regained his position with 9-3. Viktor Axelsen made a quick adjustment and caught up right away with 8-10. Chen Long made an excellent body hit and exchanged courts with 11-8. Chen Long stayed his leading position with frequent high scores with 17-9 and claimed the championship with 20-13. As Viktor Axelsen made a mistake in low serve, and still fell behind with 21-13, while Chen Long announced his victory with 2:1.
